As a long time PS user, by far, my biggest disappoint was Sketch. The position of the UI is counter-intuitive and almost unusable. I did give it a go and in comparison to PS CC, routine tasks are abnormal. Going through the task of opening and closing layers, zoom and pan, etc. feel antiseptic and is even more so when working in CC. After some experimentation, and despite the fact that I am a bit of a hacker, I decided to use a program that allowed me to bridge the gap for many of the things I needed to get done. One of the programs I tried was the open source application, Gimp, and it worked like a charm for all of my extended needs. I ran into one problem the first time I loaded it, however, and was able to resolve it. That was, the fact I wasnt able to export an image to a source that I could not see the image in. Ive since worked around this, but made a decision to avoid Gimp, knowing that the community that built it is something I wanted to be involved in and don’t think the organization is doing anything wrong, but I just didn’t like it in the end.

Pros: The new file saving options, launched apps, and designed UI are welcome and have broadened the capabilities of PS. As for the development community, there are still some big changes that need to be made to the UI, and these changes are throughout basically all of Photoshop CC.
Cons: The use of AI is a double edge sword because on the one hand, the editors are able to alter an image to a degree that a photographer would not do, so you have to keep that in mind. As far as AI is concerned, this only really works when you have a solid connection with the AI editor who you are using. The AI, in my case, was spotty at best. Even the quick way to undo went wrong more often than not, and lack of functional features would make you wonder, “what was the point of this tool?”
Overall, it was a big step forward, and I am happy PS is doing what it is doing.
Mostly, I would rather them attempt to make the UI’s in a similar topology to that of PS than to re-work it into light box “Views”.
